Wasted Wednesday: A Cornucopia

Hey there ya turkey! Ready for family time, food, football and booze tomorrow? I know I am! This weeks Wasted Wednesday will feature a cornucopia of recent music news and gossip I found interesting because honestly, no one is causing too much of a ruckus this week!

First off I would like to give a nod to the 50 year anniversary of Beatlemania. It’s unbelievable that in 1963 four mop-top Brits put together some tunes that would launch them into a level of unmatched super stardom. While their first single “Please Please Me” is what launched their success in the 1960’s, it’s what they did with that success that has made them a band of the century and (hopefully) centuries to come. The dissolution of The Beatles occurred in late 1974 but that didn’t stop their creative minds from continuing to do what they do best ,change a generation with their lyrics. John Lennon, George Harrison and Paul McCartney all led successful solo careers after the break up.

In other news, Madonna was named the highest paid entertainer on the 2013 Forbes list of  highest earning musicians. She brought in $125 million putting her high above second place recipient, Lada Gaga, who only brought in around $80 million. To add a little more flair to Madonna’s already impressive resume, Forbes also named her the highest paid musician world wide. How do you like them apples Mama Monster?

Lastly, I must touch on the current YouTube sensation for the week that will blow your mind! As if James Franco and Seth Rogen doing a “Bound 2” parody was not enough, let me introduce you to Steve Kardynal, a YouTube user who perfected the art of freaking Chatroulette participants out to the max. His version of Miley Cyrus “Wrecking Ball” music video can be seen below. Please note the overwhelming urge of Chatroulette viewers wanting to sing along.

Until next time…
