Wasted Wednesday

My musical infatuation with John Mayer began in 8th grade when I was invited to a Jingle Ball concert with my best friend, Morgan. While there were about 20 other musical guests, including Destiny’s Child, when JM hit the stage I was hooked. I’ve bought every album and scoured the internet for rare, live versions of his songs because I just can’t get enough.

His musical talents have been overshadowed by his womanizing ways – his kiss and tell nature after dating actresses and musicians have gotten his name in Rolling Stone magazine and even in one of Taylor Swift’s infamous ex-boyfriend songs. Most recently, he’s been seen with his on-and-off girlfriend, Katy Perry, and the two are very much on! I think he’s turning over a new leaf, revealing a more sentimental side. Saturday night marked the kick off of his Born & Raised tour in Milwaukee and John dedicated his final song, A Face to Call Home, to Katy who was in the crowd that evening. I’ll be at a show later this summer, and will keep you updated if he decides to dedicate a song to me – I’ll let him decide on which song, though the obvious choice would be his 2002 hit, Your Body is a Wonderland.

  1. Ok, well this is an improvement from Backstreet Boys, who are back at it again I hear 🙂 I am with you on John Mayer though, his music is awesome. He is Berklee educated and his speeches about songwriting are incredible for any musician looking to better his craft. As for his womanizing, well, he’s up there with the best… I’ll tell Henshel to look out!
