Wasted Wednesday

If you haven’t heard Robin Thicke’s Blurred Lines you must live under a rock. Whether its quietly jamming out at work or getting ready for a night out, we’re listening on repeat. Thicke is known in the music world for his smooth and soulful R&B beats. He has been nominated for best artist, best album and best song but something tells us he’s still looking for something to pull in listeners. He is also known as Growing Pains’ actor Alan Thicke’s son, which is really upsetting because it means that his actual son isn’t Mike Seaver.

When is the last time anyone watched a music video? We can think of a dozen songs that we absolutely adore, yet we couldn’t tell you if a video even existed for a particular song. Well, a music video definitely exists for Blurred Lines and we’re certainly watching. Is it the models prancing around naked, or the mylar balloons that drew us in? You be the judge.

P.S. – The above video is NSFW, but here’s the PG version so you can still dance around in your cube.

I’ve watched this song like 6 more times. I can’t believe they can have that out on youtube. how did they get away with that?

This music video is ridiculous. “Robin Thicke had a big d***” plastered on the wall, topless models prancing around, a lyrics that says “what rhymes with hug me?” I personally love this song. The first time I heard it, I thought it was kind of too over the top. But after a few more listens, I’ve succumbed to it’s awesomeness. This one is going to be around for a while. Don’t get me wrong, it’s an awesome song, but do you think it’s the number one song in the nation because of the song or the music video?

The music video has been getting a lot of negative attention because of the nude models, the crass phrasing and the lyrics, but like they say – no attention is bad attention in Hollywood! I have to admit, despite the criticism, I love the song and the video is all in good fun.
