Red Hot Chili Peppers @ Firefly

Words cannot describe the amount of love that I have for this band. Last night’s set was one of the most majestic musical experiences of my life. A bright shining stage within the Delaware woods was a scene wrought out of imagination and fantasy. The energy delivered throughout the performance made one forget that these members minus Josh are all pushing 50. Josh is an unknown commodity that put in a night worth of backbreaking worth that eased the absence of John from the band. Flea is a gift to the human race whose love of music is exemplified every time he walks on stage. He is a mystic from a different age and it is evident with every breath he takes. Chad is the greatest drummer that no one talks about, if he wanted to he could melt everyone’s face with his drum solos on the regular, but that’s not his role in the band, he’s there to lock in with Flea and give Josh and Anthony the freedom to entertain us. Anthony is still Red Hot with his energy and enthusiasm, he jumped around the stage for 90 minutes and looked like he just had a day at the beach. His voice is still on point and people who say he doesn’t have a rock voice don’t know nothing about nothing. RHCP til’ I die!!!!!

No “Yurtle the Turtle”? This time around?

They are so good live and I would say the best rock band of our generation, several other generations might be able to claim them as well! Such a great live show that I wish I could see again and again. Played some deep cuts too with “Sir Psycho Sexy” and “They’re Red Hot” during the encore. Of course “Give it Away” to close the set was a great call.

I’ll never get enough chili peppers. They are arguably the best band of our generation and judging from the video you just sent me, they still got it. I saw them in Jersey a year or two ago. It was their first concert with Josh and I have to give it to him too, he’s some talent.
